I just got my second hand PSP 2000, but it has Firmware 3.73, how do i downgrade it? Should i format the Memory stick to begin with?

Just follow Rydian's sticky topic for modding your PSP. You're aiming for a permanent install of 6.60 PRO B10 as you have a fully hackable PSP model.

To sum it up:

Firmware 3.73

I put RECOVERY IN PSP>GAME

I put 550Pbp in the root.

Cannot be loaded..

Dotmore is me btw..

PSP2000
Firmware 3.73
Datacode 7D
battery: 3.6v 1200 mAh

Would a pandora battery 1800 mAh work?

And can i make a MMS with a Sandisk Memorystick Pro Duo 4Gb magicgate, and when its done still put my backups on it?

3.73 isn't cfw, just update to ofw 6.60 then download 6.60 pro b-10 run the proupdate file and then the cipl flasher (put the ofw file in ms0:/psp/game/update and the other files in game, ms0 is the memory stick root)

Create a folder in your PSP/GAME/ folder called UPDATE. Then place the 5.00 firmware eboot.pbp there. Then run it from the XMB to update. Make sure you have your PSP plugged in too.

Certain 3.XX FW CAN actually build pandoras on earlier 2000 models (hackable). Before updating, the OP should try turning his battery into pandora?

It's not the firmware, but the PSP motherboard itself. Even when it's hacked, if that 2000 could modify a battery to a Pandora it'll still be able to once he's on 6.xx, but if he only has a single battery i wouldn't recommend it.

I do only got 1 battery.

but i can Upgrade my 3.73 firmare to 6.60 then downgrade to CFW without a Pandora? Where can i find OFW 6.60?

I got confused with TA085 mb's. TA088 can't write eeprom, while TA085 can.
