Hey all. I have a PSP 1000 and it will not charge via the regular wall charger.

Some info:

Used PSP 1000 from Ebay
Knockoff Battery from Amazon (I have the original, but it doesn't hold a charge well per the ebay seller at least.)
I have changed the DC Power Port

Still will not charge via the wall charger. Honestly the only thing I haven't checked is the physical battery charger. I mean it is new so it should in theory work....but you never know. Just seems unlikely that is the answer.

I ended up buying a wall charger that you simply put the battery into it and charge it that way. It works, but does't fix the problem.
I was reading that there is a fuse that can be blown near where the battery connector (yellow part) connects to the pcb....I just have no idea how to check something like this.

I would like to put emulators onto it and everywhere I read it says it should be plugged in while adding the files and stuff. Can I just used a fully charged battery?

If you can just fully charge the battery it should be fine, I know there's supposed to be some plugins that let you charge the system through the USB port but idk what they are. I'd imagine they work for this, maybe just combine it with Hold+ or something.

Do you have a multimeter? If so, remove the psp battery and connect the console to the wall charger. Now, use the multimeter to check if there is any current coming from the connectors where the battery goes.

Note: The connectors are the first and third ones.

usb charge can be enabled in most (all?) cfw's thorugh recovery menu, though it still doesnt completely fix the issue since the system will only charge via usb if it's powered, so an empty battery cant be charged that way.

No usb charge on phat, also i m sure you cannot turn on the device without a battery via usb, while you can do so with the charger

Even if an option exists, it does not mean it is working/supported
