PS1/2 PSone will not read disc with known good laser assembly.

Hello GBATemp,

I have a slimline PSone (SCPH-102) which will not read discs, afaik it does not have any other issues. It is unmodified.
Attempts to read both music CDs as well as game discs results in the laser repeatedly trying to read the disc and failing until it gives up. However, using the same laser assembly in another PSone console does work. (This console also has an issue in that the video signal is terrible).

Any ideas on the potential issue?

If the laser is working in a different console, it might need a recap.

I’d also check for corrosion on the mobo.

From what I tell there isn't any corrosion on either motherboard. I tried changing "C705", sadly no change. https://caps.wiki/wiki/Sony_PS_one mentions the possible cap that's causing the video issue on the other motherboard, so I may just have to salvage that one cap from the other board for now.
