The most easiest way i've found to get the png images is to download them via Retroarch. Go to online updater, then thumbnail updater and choose the system you want. Then just go to your retroarch folder and thumbnails/supernintendo/namedboxart.
You can download the thumbnails from a PC: http://thumbnails.libretro.com/
e.g. http://thumbnails.libretro.com/Nintendo - Super Nintendo Entertainment System/ for SNES
Or the whole ZIP from here: http://thumbnailpacks.libretro.com/

Well this is very nice. Thank you. Question though. All my snes roms have similar text towards the end... (u) (!). On a mac, how can I quickly rename all of the roms to match the associated png (or vise versa)? I wonder if there is a program than can scan your snes roms, download the art to match the rom in png format and also and match the filename so I can use them in Psnes.

Your roms are from the GoodSet. The thumbnails from LibRetro use the No-Intro naming convention, so you should get roms from the No-Intro set. There are quite a few rom managers which can rename and verify roms (clrmamepro for example), but they are complicated to use. Best is to just rename the files manually (if it's not too much) or download a No-Intro SNES set.

I'm not sure if this would look good or rubbish but how about having a transparent screenshot background that changes depending on which game is highlighted.

I'm sure coinops on og xbox did that but with videos and it was pretty cool.

Hmm I did notice a issue;
In the emulation settings i set it to full screen and linear.
Some games still tend to use their own settings and switch to 4:3 at start.
When I go to their options it defaults to full screen and point it seems and this causes psnes to hang on a bunch of games.

Hope that made sense ;)

You could try deleting config files and let it recreate them.

You should update to 1.3, there's a lot of fixes, and no more point scaling option (I may add it back in the future but its difficult to manage with the new filters options (which already does 2x point scaling)).

Man, this emulator looks awesome...
I really wanna try it but I am not sure if I want to attempt to boot homebrew loader on my Switch yet... Seems risky, but playing SNES on my Switch with my SF30 pro maybe worth a try... There would be noticeable input lag? I used to play on my phone, but for platformers the input lag while being connected via Bluetooth is unbearable to me...

Can't find that menu in retroarch! :/

I got 2 issues with sx os 1.2.

1. It saves normally with kirby dream course but it doesnt save with mario rpg.
2. After playing botw, I closed the game and booted psnes, then my switch crashed and told me to shut it off.
