Hello, I am about to buy a ps5 and would like to upgrade the internal space.

Im a bit confused. There is a slot to "add" extra storage with another m.2 or we need to replace the ssd inside the ps5 ?

Can't upgrade the 825GB, what you are buying is for the m.2 SSD slot, you can use 250GB to 4TB SSD, 2230, 2242, 2260, 2280 NVME SSD.

ok so we have 2 storage space, does the game install automaticaly to the 2nd ssd if the 1st one is full or you have to "move" games from one to another ?

You can only use one at a time but you can store PS5 games on external drive and move them when you want to play.

originally, I was dumping all my ps5 games, then putting them on external, but it's a bad move, because you have to transfer the ps5 game back before inserting the disc or it will just copy it again. I deleted all of those games after that happened to me, it seemed pointless anyway. I just put the psn+ games on the external hdd, since they're digital anyway.

ok but why use external hdd when you can have an aditionnal internal storage ?
I'm not sure if he meant he does that, just a scenario where you don't have to buy an expensive m2.

that's what I'm doing, because I can't afford extended the storage. plus, it's not like I play one or two games at a time anyway.

I post my question here , because it's related to this post :
One of my friend (who has too much money.. hum...) want to buy a PS5 PRO.
He has a question about the SSD expansion bay : do we know if there is an expansion bay on the PS5 PRO?
Sony never spoke about it but at least we know that the internal SSD will be a 2Tb SSD.
I've check the internet and it seems that no one has the answer (but the PS5 PRO will be launched November the 7th so....)..
