Ps5 Rumored to get Ps3 Backwards Compatibility

There's a rumor gaining traction that Ps5 will receive an update to enable native back-compat to Ps3 games. Any thoughts?

$ony is sneaky enough to attempt the tactic you allude to, so anyone on exploitable firmware should Not be tempted by back-compat, hell even those on potentially exploitable firmware like 8.20 or lower should hold fast.

If $ony pushes a back-compat update then for sure the homebrew community will come to the rescue and reverse engineer a solution for those of us lucky to be on 4.51 or lower.

"native back-compat on ps5" would be mostly impossible unless it's dynamically recompiling, the ps5 has an x86 cpu, ps3 has powerPC, it'd be like the xbox one back compat, but i doubt sony would get close to how many games xbox got (even if it still isn't enough imo)

That's not quite accurate, it is for select games not native backwards compatibility which implies all ps3 games would work.

Edit: well with a google search one site says select games and the other says native like you said. So I don't know which one is right
