Hacking PS4 UPDATE 5.05 faulty BD disk drive

Hi,

lot of people can't update their PS4 since 5.00 UPDATE with a BD disk drive crashed
My PS4 is in 4.55 and try to update but with my faulty blueray drive I can upgrade max 4.73.
I try all the FW in normal and recovery mode :
5.00 beta 3/4/5/6
5.01 ( fix for faulty drive?)
5.03
5.05

PUP decrypt can decrypt FW and can we have a mod of Update to bypass the BD disk drive check ?

Other method to update ?

This is a known problem, there is no known fix yet. Maybe one will appear eventually.

Mira CFW is being ported to 4.73 for this reason.

Someone on FB today told me that there's a work around now?
He told me that there's an app that avoids disc check to update from 4.74 to 5.05. Is it real? Cant find anything

I forgot how I update mine from 3.x to 5.05 with swapped out drive. Took me a few hours but got it to 5.05 with no drive. So it is possible.

I believe when you make it to 4.74 there is 5.05 pup that lets you update to 5.05 (I had to remove ribbon cable from bdr) ( I found it on psxhax) Pretty sure thats how it went.

I'm starting to remember

I update all the way to 4.74 with removing bdr ribbon trick

Then I used this to update to 5.05 but I don't remember if I had to mess with the ribbon cables to get it to work.

Just found my steps





Be on 4.74

Run hen with notify zecoxao.github.io

Install 5.05 pkg

Run payload sender 100% zecoxao.github.io

Send payload with ps4 payload sender port 9020

Put 5.05 update on root (Worked with exfat)

Run 5.05 updater from main menu

Have you verified your email on psxhax? ( they should have sent you an email upon registering)

@HitchesRIP, thanks for the link, what luck do i have now it keeps saying my update is corrupt. errrrrrrrrrrr. having no luck, even tried to redownload it from a few diff sites. cant win

are you changing the name of the file ?
Ive done it few days ago and it all worked

nope download the update and leave it named PS4UPDATE.PUP copied to the root of the USB stick
