Odds are the PS4 wouldn't be able to support PS3 games natively. Before you cry about, remember when the PS3 was able to support PS2 games natively? God that was a lovely $599 price tag.
So would you rather it not be backwards compatible (before you bitch about that, do remember there are plenty of consoles in history that haven't been but people just love them) or for it to not be backwards compatible natively but support game streaming as an option?
I'd rather pay more for full backward compability.
Also, the price would drop with time
