Kindly share a check list for PS4 maintenance.
For example:
Replacing thermal paste or thermal pad for RAM, replacing CPU fan, etc.

Planning to open my PS4 on Jan next year.

Preventive maintenance.
My PS4 is 4 years old so I thought of opening it up to clean it and replacing stuff while at it.

check every port for dust and crap buildup. both USB on the front and all the rear ports especially the notoriously weak HDMI. you can clear the dust/hair out with compressed air or a careful toothpick.
open up the HDD cover too, even if youre not intending to replace the HDD there will be a ton of dust around the cage

You do realize thermal paste was only intended to be used for 1-2 years right? You are supposed to replace it every few years. It's not an apply once and forget about it type of thing. The PS3 thermal paste would crumble within a few months of use. It's a surprise they lasted as long as they did.

You don't own a PC do you? You change the thermal paste because it dries up and fails to dissipate heat like it should.

we don't spend much time redoing thermal paste


EDIT: I mean obviously, if you get new heat spikes, and trouble shooting leads you to suspect heatsink/paste you do it, but without something alarming, we don't just change thermal paste "just cause"

Honestly depends on what you are using and how it "dries" over time. AS5 and IC7 should outlive most PC's. The garbage that the servers and desktops ship from the factory with, wax compound, usually gets about 2 years out of then hardens.

cant go wrong with some arctic silver
