PS4 game requires update

I am wanting to play a legit version of ELEX 2 and I am on firmware HEN 9,0. The game is asking for an update to 9.03.... Is there any way around this?

Turn off the internet, and delete the update if it downloaded, then test.

It has now installed the game from the disc.... but I get an error message when launching it.
"Cannot start the application. (CE-34224-5)"

Apparently the original game and the patches aren't compatible with firmware 9.0... I suppose thats why it is trying to force me to update to 9.03
