PS4 FW 7.02 kernel exploit released by TheFlow

Renowned for his work in the PSVita scene, TheFlow has extended his contribution into the PS4 scene. Last night, he announced a new kernel exploit he found on the PS4 firmware 7.02. He further mentions that this vulnerability can be combined with a Webkit exploit for firmwares up to 6.72; hinting at the potential Jailbreak.

This exploit has, however, been patched in the PS4's 7.50 FW since TheFlow himself worked with Sony's HackerOne bounty program to expose this issue. For those looking for more technical details around the exploit, head to the HackerOne page right here to learn more.

The full exploit has been released, 6.72 jailbreak is out now but a bit buggy. Seems a few 5.05 fpkg games are not currently working on 6.72...

Wait a little longer. I am staying with 5.05 anyway until it is fully stable. Therefore, this is about 7.02 and not 6.72.

There's several newer sites hosting the exploit that work about 50% of the time so it's much better than the last two days but it's the same exploit you will run into the same errors and crashes even after you do the exploit. It still needs work but at least it's not like winning the lottery to get the exploit to work anymore.
