So, apparently the FW 9.0 resolves the PS4 clock battery problem, that at some point would render all games unplayable.

Would it be possible to downport this fix on PS4 hacked units still using FW 6.72?

Or would this require a full hack of FW 9.0 (at which point, if that ever were to happen, it would be smarter to just update to FW 9.0)?

The rtc payload only works on 5.05, but you can use goldhen. It only works with fpkg, so dump your games asap. @KiiWii and I have tutorials on doing that. There's an easier way to inject the keystone, which is adding it manually to the gp4.

it's possible it will be backported to earlier firmware like the preventing external hdds from working was.

is this CMOS issue only for Ps4 systems that are on OFW or also for CFW?

my ps4 system is on ofw and not on 9.0 as it could brick/not work propery if updated to that system.

if i cannot get into psn or online, will my system stop working/playing games?

im not sure about ps vita systems (those's don't have a cmos battery),
but for the ps3 systems, it'd also be an issue there?

my ps3 has cfw on it, so the cmos issue shouldn't affect it from working porperly?

yes, exploited ps4s would still be affected. it would only affect discs though as fpkg games will still run with a failed cmos battery. the ps3 system is also vulnerable to this bug, which may be corrected with a firmware update just like 9.00 on the ps4. nothing really to worry about with the ps3 though as there's a cfw for the latest.
