hello everybody,

I have bought a ps4 5.05 and a 4t external hdd. I know there is an app called apptousb but I don’t get it to work. For example: I have installed a pkg on the internal hdd. I have placed the same pkg on the external hdd in the map PS4/CUDAxxxxxx/app.pkg. What is the next step? Thanks for your advice

Don't know about it, but you should be able to just install your stuff and then move it to an external HDD: https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/g...are/storage---data/ps4--external-hdd-support/

You cannot move/play fake signed (read: pirate) games when theyre on extended storage.

Use apptousb or modify the db your self to redirect to USB.

I know there is an app called ApptoUsb; could you tell me how I can use this on a Ps4 5.05?

Thanks, I am going to try it.

one last question; is this ini file configurated good?

To check the usb root for the pkg file to save time copying from the internal ps4 drive then uncomment the line below.
but remember this will move the pkg from the root directory to the PS4 folder.
CHECK_USB
To rename previously linked pkg files to the new format uncomment the line below.
//RENAME_APP
To disable the processing of icons/art and sound uncomment the line below.
//DISABLE_META
To leave game updates on the internal drive uncomment the line below.
//IGNORE_UPDATES
To move DLC to the usb hdd uncomment the line below.
//MOVE_DLC
To use this list as a list of games you want to move not ignore then uncomment the line below.
MODE_MOVE
Example ignore or move usage.
CUSA07410

.ini should work that way. let your pkgs on the root of the hdd, you don't even need to rename anything. app2usb will do it's job on its own. you even can left the cusa list empty, it will check and move every fake pkg on its own.

The game will not work anymore. So if i am right i just put te PKG file on the root and run app2usb?

well for any new game proceed that way:

1. put pkg on hdd from computer
2. install pkg
3. start app2usb, it will take the same pkg from the hdd and move it on it own to ps4/cusa etc and free that space up from internal hdd. if the pkg on the external was deleted, it will copy instead from the internal

Thanks for the quick reply; so i dont have to make folders and edit the ini before i run App2usb? the program will do this for me?

I have a 1tb drive attached to my PS4, can I use a flash drive to install the PKG files and then move them onto external USB hard drive, or do they need to be installed off the external drive? if so better to ftp to the drive or plug into pc and copy across like that? thanks

Just to be safe;

1. I have put the PKG on the root. I have a folder on the root called PS4. In this folder is the app2usb.ini and nothing else
2. The ini is as followed:
To check the usb root for the pkg file to save time copying from the internal ps4 drive then uncomment the line below.
but remember this will move the pkg from the root directory to the PS4 folder.
//CHECK_USB

CUSAXXXX1
CUSAXXXX2
CUSAXXXX3
3. I install the PKG file
4. Run app2usb
5. Done?

write every step you made and with which method you start app2usb.
I tried running the app2usb payload but the storage used on the internal is the same after running it. I noticed that the original pkg is still on the internal hard drive after running it but the games are loading from the external because I could see the status light on my external flashing when it's running.

the internal and external drives kind of "merge" so the information on your storage left won't change, but after some time it exceeds. so if you have 500gb internal and 1000gb external, theoretically if ever both are full, the system will show 1500gb.

for example. try to run the game without the external connected, it shouldn't boot.
