Well, we all knew it would come one day. That day is today!
The PS3 USB Masterkey has been leaked. You can now downgrade from 3.50 or lower firmwares to any other firmware with Open Source Sticks.
Please be aware that as of know you are not able to downgrade from FW 3.55!


However, here is the Masterkey:

AFAIK a key cannot be copyrighted, so it's not warez. I remember even marcan saying that.

You can save your facepalm, I did not repost anything. Now, I deleted the key from my post.
The Masterkey lets you downgrade from 3.50 to any other lower firmware so you can jailbreak your PS3.
Having the USB Masterkey gives us even more possibilities to jailbreak a 3.50 PS3, please check in this relation also the X3MAX-Team who claim to have jailbroken the PS3 on a 3.50 firmware.

Dude 0x32 it's 0x78 just 0x57 a 0x2D hex 0x90 array 0x90, it's 0xD5 impossible 0xAC to 0xAE claim 0xF9 copyright 0x03 on 0xCA that 0x1A abstract 0xB6 string 0x5E

I know, but as far as I remember, we had put it as a rule that we couldn't post it. We'll discuss this again between the staff and we'll see.

So, it's bypassing the 3.42 and 3.50 USB device whitelist protection ?

Why downgrading instead of jailbreaking using the same USB Masterkey method ?
I guess KaKaRoTo could find the offset of the 3.42 and 3.50 firmware to make PL3 working on them, no ?

No, it's only a way to bypass the USB whitelist only in order to execute payloads with non-whitelist device. (well, that's what I understood).
The PS3 is/will still initiate the connected device after a hard reboot.

sorry for the facepalm-ing. I saw the mod's edit and just assumed. So then a masterkey is pretty much what it says on the tin then? A dev could use this to make all sorts of applications and such?

For that you still need to be able to use Linux on your iPhone, so if it isn't a 2G/3G, you're still out of luck, for now (and probably for VERY long).

It's a 2G, and jailbroken if it makes any difference. I read some tutorials on how to actually jailbreak the PS3 with it and it looks like I'm in the clear there, I may need to update my iPhone's firmware first but I'm fine with doing that. I just need to downgrade my PS3.
