Hacking PS3 test console & rebug

Hi, I wondered if anyone could help me, I just purchased a PS3 test console which already has rebug on. I think this come in handy for me but I wanted to upgrade size of my HDD , I wanted to know that if I clone the hdd in console onto bigger hdd will I still have rebug or is it saved on another part of storage in the PS3?

Maybe be silly question but I new to all this.

I believe it shouldn’t matter. I know nand models it doesn’t matter, you just throw the new HDD in and it’s all set. I only have used one nor console so I could be wrong.

Yes, if you clone it it will work. It's what I did to mine when upgrading to a bigger HDD.

I think nor consoles store part of the firmware on the hdd since the nor is so tiny. Given they are cloning the hdd it should be fine though.

What model is it? If it's a fat DECHA00 then it's stored on the flash and not the hard drive.

If there is nothing on the hard drive you want to save then I wouldn't bother cloning it as I'm not sure how you extend the partition if you do.

I wouldn't worry about rebug though, you can just download and install it easily on test units. Ironically if it had official 4.84 then it would be worth saving as getting hold of official versions is really hard (which is why it was sold running rebug).
