I never heard anything about that, but all I know is that you can't install 3.56v2 or any higher firmware since the PS3 will detect the update files as corrupted (Which is what the bug is). No one on Sony's forum have found any solutions nor does Sony themselves seem to know what to do about it. Me, as well as others, have emailed them but they only replied back about trying different hard drives or whatever when that isn't the case. Those who called had to send theirs in and the ones who're out of warranty were still charged for the $150 to get it replaced, which I refuse to do since the fault lies with Sony who not only broke the update, but should've made the v2 a mandatory update instead of putting it up without notice.
