Hi all,

I've for a PS3 which was having problems with artifacting which was mainly caused by any sort of very light pressure on the console, like putting your finger on one corner, or just sometimes plugging in a usb cable or hdmi.

Independently none of the ports were causing it so I verified it enough to get to conclussion that some of the solder joints might be loose.

What I did is apply flux on the processing units, vram, some other modules and heated them slightly the first time with a heat gun, for about 10-15 seconds each, a little more on cpu and gpu.

The first time I did it I immediately put everything back together which was my mistake as the board was still a little hot, but not the melting point of solder, and tried to run it which caused my first YLOD. I thought maybe its either due to the way I used the flux or the fact that I moved the PCB.

Then I looked at some guides and attempted to reflow again, especially properly heating up the the gpu and cpu. I let it rest overnight this time, but still getting the YLOD.

I originally got this out of the garage to try and fix it, to learn something, but I ended up damaging it more. So I hit an YLOD wall now and am stuck.

Thank you in advance for your help.
