Hello,

I have read first 5 pages of this forum before asking a newbie question.

I have a slimline version of PS2 bought last Christmas. What is the best mod as of today which can play any backup games? Where do you buy this from and any other words of wisdom are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure the independence exploit works, but it's cheaper to get swap magic or a modchip.
A modchip will cost you about 18$ from modchipcentral, and swap magic is 25$ from modchip.ca (NOT . COM). If you don't have any problems with soldering, go for the duo3.

I modded my PS2 to play backups for free using things you can find around the house (pencap, straw and cardboard). It's the sensor block swap trick. You can find videos about it on youtube.

I made a video showing the swap trick works
