I want to buy an ps2 and softmod it, and tomorrow i'll be going to get a ps2 from a gamestop and trying to softmod it, but i don't know if it shoud be a specific version? Dose it have to be and if what kind of software version have to be? (Or maybe the fat version is better than slim to softmod it?)
    Thanks :)

The only model you should stay away if you want to use FMCB is the SCPH-9000X, R chassis.

No one is "better" to softmod, better say us what you want to do with it.

    Both have advantages/disadvantages.

Personally the PS2 PHAT has an upper hand, as long as you don't care about its size. It allows games to be stored on its internal hard drive once softmodded for easy assess to games.

With the PS2 SLIM you can ether burn games or play over your network (other methods are available but are not recommended).

And with the slim any model will work apart from anything above 9000X.
