I installed a modchip in my PS1 because the games are getting harder to find, and I don't want some of my rarer games damaged through normal use. Some of them, most notably Castlevania, simply will not work properly on the console. The original disc works fine, and both the iso and backup work fine in ePSXe (other than the normal sound errors). On the console itself, the e movies are skippy, and more importantly the sprites are replaced with garbage. I've tried a few different brands/lots of CDs, and varied the burn speed. Any other suggestions?

Just wait for PSIO to be released and play them from an sd card on your ps1.
