Profile Picture Weirdness

Tried to set a picture earlier, and it struggled to show the picture even it was edited for 400 x 400, I was wondering if anyone else has had problems with this. It's showing now for me, but a couple of minutes or so ago it wasn't

GBATEMP has two nasty bugs.

First one are the Mods.
The other is that in order to change your Avatar you must first delete your previous one, clear browser cache, and then upload the new one.

There's also a WEBP vulnerability too, so somebody could probably make a maliciously crafted profile picture. I suppose that wouldn't work since GBAtemp re-encodes the image, making it pretty harmless.

I like to use Gravatar here. I haven't struggled much with uploading my own profile picture, but it does make it a little easier.

It was supposed to be addressed by now, in fact, I've had more problems with Profile Banners than Avatars.

Yeah... Admins made it to "prevent spam".

Posts merge automatically when you reply to the same thread multiple times in a row (I think maybe only within a short span of time too?)

The waiting between same user posts without merging was raised from 15 minutes to 24 hours.

Valid, IMO. Good short-term bump prevention.

Okay, yeah sure. Except the site still gets spammed AF every night.

So why punish users for something they can't even control properly? Besides, the anti-spamming between posts measure should be handled per forum, not as a general "rule" that's broken.

My main problem with my profile pic was that only half of the image was displayed on the site for some reason, and I've managed to fix fix it by adjusting it's size to 400x400. Anyways, I didn't knew that you can have banners here! Is it something you unlock with levels or am I just blind?

There's two kind of payments for the feature.
Both are considered Patron Unlockables.

1st way is to pay with real money your Patron Features. Monthly or Yearly.
2nd way is with "XP" points. Basically, rewarding users that are valuable to the site.

I just make controversial posts and it basically pays itself.
