processor upgrade for compaq armada

i got a old Compaq armada 7800 to tinker with. i see that this computer can have a Pentium II mobile processor of up to 400MHz but since the Pentium II'S came on those annoying slots i am second guessing about maxing out this computer. did all pentium 2 moblie processors come on boards like the one in my laptop. or was this a proprietary piece that i cant find?

Good question. I was under the impression that all laptops had the processor pernamently soldiered onto the motherboard.
