Hacking problems with scrubbed mario kart pal with wiikey/key clip

Just installe/config'd my wiikey with the latest 1.9s. Tried a few games, SMG, Mario Party, both worked fine. Stuck in MK and ran the update. First time it showed up in the disc channel, then when I tried to play gave me 'an error has occured. Press the eject button and remove the disc'. Its a scrubbed pal image, on a pal wii. Just tried mario party again and it seemed to work fine.

Any suggestions?

error has occured means your burn is crap, re-burn on a proper media (tdk, verbatim) dvd-r (not +r) at 4-8x speed

burn is using imgburn at 4x on verbatim dvd-r, manufacture ID: MCC 03RG20 . I even verified after. Is it worth trying an unscrubbed version?
