Currently got 3.52 m33-4 on my classic psp. Im trying to upgrade it to the latest one, i believe its 3.90. I've followed all the instructions etc, renamed the .PBP.

But when i run the update it says:

Unpacking...done
Please Wait

And stays on the please wait forever. Is this a common problem?

I got the Update file in PSP/Game.

Inside is the Eboot.PBP that came with it and ive also got 390.PBP.

I've tried formatting the memory stick and it still seems to stay stuck on the black screen and please wait. According to all the readme files ive seen, ive done everything correctly so im unsure what ive done wrong.

Thanks for any help

I might be out on thin ice here (don't have a lot of experience in "Phat-flashing") but I've read that when you upgrade from a very early firmware to a late/the latest firmware you have to go through some key updates along the way.

Like you cant go from x.xx to z.zz but instead you have to go x.xx to y.yy to z.zz.

Try updating to 3.80 before you update to 3.90.

(someone with more experience should verify this)

I thought that might be the problem too, but it seems to suggest that as long as you are above 3.52 m33-3, which i am, it should be okay?
