So I had recently used steelhax to download home brew on to my New 3ds and that worked fine. But then I tried following a tutorial for frogminer () and at around 17:30 when he tells you to hold down the power button, I did so and my 3ds turned off. And then I tried to turn it on again but all I got was the blue light to come on for a couple seconds then die. So there was probably an easy fix but me being a noob I decided to delete all my steelhax and frogminer files! I then tried to reinstall them all because I still had the files on my computer. Then I turned on my 3ds and was greeted with the “An error has occurred: Unsupported launcher (argc = 0) Press any button to shutdown” message.
Am I bricked? I haven’t messed around with it anymore. Is my 3ds dead forever?

So I made sure that I had boot.firm on my sd and I did so I then held select while turning on but was still given the same message (sorry for the late response I’ve been busy with school)

Omg ok I think it worked because I got a new screen, although now I’m really scared to do anything so if you can tell me what to do now I would be extremely grateful. I got this screen

Okay nvm I just looked it up and my 3ds is working normally again. Now I really just want a clean way to get rid of homebrew and all that stuff but I want to make sure I don’t break anything. I should probably have made a new page by now but then I would have to explain everything again so any tips?

Tip: Do not remove anything. If you have any problems, these can be solved only if you keep your cfw installation. There is even a nice sticky thread about this:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/you-dont-need-to-remove-b9s-the-guide-to-proper-troubleshooting.477024/
If you still have problems, just ask for help. If you delete all the tools that could potentially help you repair any issues, it gets a lot harder. There are little to no benefits of deleting cfw (I can't think of anything positive). Once set up correctly B9S/Luma is pretty solid. You can use your 3DS like without cfw but have additional possibilities.

Removing B9S will not magically eliminate any problems and can potentially cause new problems.

If you are absolutely sure about uninstalling: It is on the guide (the guide advises against uninstalling in a big red box!) :
https://3ds.hacks.guide/uninstall-cfw
Don't hold me responsible for any problems if you choose to follow the uninstalling guide.

Oh my god I’m so sorry I didn’t read that So I just deleted all the homebrew and luma files because I’m an omg and I thought it would work. So I tried to turn it on and all I get is a flashing red light. I’ve screwed up for good. Please tell me there is a way to fix this because I don’t know what I’m supposed to do know. I’ve probably ruined it I’m such an idiot I’m sorry that I didn’t listen ugh.

Put the Luma boot.firm back onto your SD card and put your system on charger

Calm down. Deleting anything on the SD does no harm to the 3DS. "Blue light on and off (red if battery drained) and nothing" is just B9S saying: "boot.firm not found. I'll quit."

Download Luma and Homebrew Menu. Put boot.firm and boot.3dsx into the the root of your SD-card. Then follow the finalizing setup page of the guide. After doing this your cfw installation should be good and the 3DS will turn on normally even if the SD is missing, deleted or corrupted.

Your SD-card should look something like this:

Okay I did that and my system is working fine and I know this thing is old anyway and it’s been ages but I came back here to ask if I would be able to update the system if I haveboot firm downloaded

Yes, it's safe to update your console while on CFW.
FAQ - 3DS Hacks Guide said:
Q: Is it safe to update CFW SysNAND?
A: Yes. This is safe, stop asking about it.
Most questions you may have should probably already be answered in the FAQ at Plailect's 3DS Hacks Guide.
Also, in the future, please do not use video guides. I cannot stress this enough. Video guides typically get outdated rather quickly and thus can lead to bricks. The only guide you should ever need for 3DS hacking is Plailect's 3DS Hacks Guide.

you can update to the latest firmware. also for any future hacking use 3ds.guide . It's always up to date and has all bases covered
