From what I gather all I'm supposed to do is download the firmware and then put it on my microSD card and then put the microSD in my Supercard then put the Supercard in my laptop with the USB port that it fits into.

Then nothing happens. The light doesn't change colors, flash or anything. It's just out of the package from Deal Extreme today. Am I doing something wrong?

Have you tried using it yet?

And I think you don't have to use the Firmware Writer until Nintendo releases a firmware that blocks the SC.

I don't have it yet, but I will probably tomorrow.

There isnt an update like that yet. lets see..... what does the package have. does it by any chance have a file folder called scshell and a nds file called MSFORSC.NDS. if so you put both of those on the root of your sd card and your games foldeor whatever, and put it in your SCDS1i and put that into your DS/DSL/DSi and load it. Presto you got a working SCDS1i!

There have not been any firmware updates yet, only OS updates. OS updates can simply be copied to the card. Insert into DS, get into the SCDS menu, choose the game to play.

It seems people here (and everywhere else on the internet) are too FUCKING IDIOT TO UNDERSTAND THAT THE FIRMWARE WRITER DOESN'T HAVE TO BE USED YET!!!!!!!!! YOU ONLY NEED TO USE THE MICROSD READER!!!!!!!!! AND WHEN THE FIRMWARE WRITER EVER NEEDS TO BE USED THERE'LL BE A FILE DISTRIBUTED BY THE SUPERCARD TEAM THAT YOU'LL HAVE TO PUT ON YOUR MICROSD!!!!!!!!!
