I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate Black Edition computer (which is a custom OS). I'm also using a Windows XP computer and the printer that I'm using right now is an HP Photosmart C2580 All-In-One Printer. It is connected to the XP computer right now. When I set up my new Vista computer which had Home Basic at irst, I tried to get the printer over at the XP computer shared on this one and it worked. Then, we installed new Windows Vista Ultimate Black Edition and now it won't detect the printer at all. We tried sharing it with the right computer and printer name on the other computer but no luck. Is it because there are no printer drivers for this custom edition for Windows Vista? We tried to install all the drivers from the HP site but nothing work. How come the Vista Black Edition computer can't detect the printer on the XP computer?

Check if all the printing services are turned on in Vista as you are using a custom edition they might have been disabled.

1 Select Start, Control Panel.

2 Select ‘Programs’ in the Control Panel window.

3 Select 'Turn Windows features on or off' from the Programs and Features group.

4 The User Account Control system will ask for permission to continue. Click the ‘Continue’ button.

5 The Windows Features window will display.

6 Expand the ‘Print Services’ item.

Also try going through this guide it is long i know http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727037.aspx.

If User Account Control is disabled on the computer, you cannot install a network printer successfully. This problem occurs if the network printer is hosted by a Windows XP-based or a Windows Server 2003-based computer.

So how do I enable User Account Control?
