@IronMask: Not really sure what you're on about(headache, bah), but if you're talking about whether the hacks are there and enabled, then yes they are in my case. At least, I don't get the health warning when booting my wii and I don't have starfall so.. it has to be because of the preloader hack. Also, I dumped my NAND and there is a hacks.ini in the shared2 directory as well as a empty Hack_S.ini.
Is that what you're on about?
Running on 3.2E, PAL in case it matters.

yea... and i have to use a smaller sd card for fs browser to function it doesnt support sdhc... but that was my fault

but i know that the hacks that came with preloader should be in the NAND... now I need to check on what I have added by peeking in with FS Browser and also by testing the games themselves that have the 3.3 update... just have been bouncing between this and my other life... been hell...LOL... but anyways I am about to look in my NAND with the FS browser to see if my added entries to the hacks.ini have all been copied to the NAND... seems as since we are not able to toggle after the 1st seven after enabling them is when we need to use the hacks.ini deleter I have on the first post...

Anyways... report back later with what I am seeing if anyone is interested...

from what i can tell the preloader needs to be running on 3.2 so you can install it .

the hack/patcher file im not to clear on how to add to or get some of them to work

but yes you can install it from hbc

Also just noticed when I tried to use "FS Browser", when choosing "Identify as SU" it fails with error -1017.
Could this be why I can't get this to go? I also can't get starfall to run, says "failed, exiting..."

I'm on FW 3.2U. Maybe my IOS's got hosed? This is my second Wii and it was at 3.4U. I did everything from the guide to FIX the update then downgrade to 3.2U but it seems that most of the apps that ident as SU or SYSMENU fail still.

So these offsets that were posted are the offsets for PAL users to try in the hacks file?

So I would need the ones for PAL to force the ntsc menu to read the PAL discs showing in disc stub/channel?

What are those offsets if I am following you correctly.

Thanks in advance.

Nope, one for ios reloading (what functionality of the system menu is patched for this dunno)
The rest of them for no copy patches...

I guess you need to apply all the patches in the waninkoko's menupatcher to get the out of region discs showing up in disc channel...
Ios reloading is to redirect system menu to another ios I guess... but it's tested... unsuccessful... maybe fisher didn't have the corresponding ios in his system... dunno...

I've got the right cios but after looking more closely at the Menupatcher source it's clear that the patch is just to set the system up for this:

CODE
ret = IOS_ReloadIOS(249);

The app then goes on to do it's own loading of the system menu... so could someone rewrite the Menupatcher app to (I think) load the Preloader main.dol rather than try the original... It runs a little identifier that checks the ticket... We'd need the preloader source though...

Can't you just look at the hack.ini in shared2 with FTPii NAND Edition? to confirm what you're saying.

after installing preloader and setting a dol as autoload.

i also want to boot into the main menu sometimes to play some vc games that i bought from the store channel.

but when i hold reset and get in to the preloader menu and select the main menu it comes with

Hmm then, ios reloading is not done using patching, I was thinking so but the portion of the menu patcher source just misleaded me...
Anyone having the menu patcher's full source can send me?

nvm my last post its just booting up real slow showing that message,

preloader is pretty cool,

but can we use hacks.ini to boot backups like in gamma where you reboot with the hooks?

if so wat is the code i use to put in the hacks.ini

sorry for bad english.

That's where the patches are applied and System Menu loads. Go to the Install DOL menu and install a compativle dol file and hopefully that will get you to the system menu. Put a compatible dol files on the root of your SD card then select one of them from the install dol menu of preloader. Reboot and see what happens.

IronMask listed some dol files that worked properly for him somewhere in this thread.

Maybe some other people can chime in and let us know what other dols have been tested working. I think there are already a couple posts of such.

OR YOU HAVE A POSSIBLY SOME BAD VALUES IN HACKS.INI

thanks for helping, but i noticed it does boot just real slow.

uhhhhhhhhhh........... anyways.......

I think we asked crediar about adding DVD to the autoboot menu. Don't hold your breath on that one.

This was probably already mentioned but it seems that and starfall patched that were enabled when preloader is installed remain in effect after preloader, i'm wondering if this may be part of the reason we are having issues getting the region free disc channel loading. Even though they apply patches differently i wonder what would happen if we ran menupatcher and then installed preloader while menuloaders patches where applied, i doubt it would carry over but you never know. Re-installing the system menu without starfall, to ensure there arn't any prior patches, then testing the menu load theory, i'll either end up with a clean menu under preloader or a menu patched version. ill report back when done

so has any one got it to load backups with out gamma?
(i know good things come to those who wait)

and thaxs for the help ironmask,

Thanks for the hacks file, it works like a charm.

With regards to out of region discs on my all-IOS-dip-patched system though, they pop up in disc channel for me, but the only NTSC backup I have (MLB Power Pros) refuse to boot; it just blackscreens without error. BUT, the latest gecko os runs for me from preloader, and I can start the NTSC backup through there. So in other words, if I want to run a NTSC disc or use ocarina, just hold reset and boot the installed geckoos from nand; all else through disc channel.

Sad enough is till don't know how to debug system menu... so I can suggest some things?

First off, thanks for the no copy codes for PAL
smile.gif
I will use it if the new version of Pre Loader is out!
biggrin.gif

And now the suggestions:

- Eject disc with Wii remote: (one of the D-pad buttons)
It is possible with cheats to active them with control buttons so... maybe... just maybe... in this way too?
To run the action to eject disc. (just for the fun
tongue.gif
)

- Restart Wii with Wii remote (Same as above)

- Possible to let the Wii check the Game ID with those things and load Codes? (from #:/Codes/ID.gcm )
Kinda like cheat rebooter in Gecko OS / launch game in Gecko OS

- Free to copy GC saves from GC Card to Wii Nand (512mb) and Back?
tongue.gif
lol (Even SD card)
That would just be so much fun

Hope these suggestions will fall in the taste!

Ok been playing around with preloader and have discovered something interesting. It is applying the health patch if its in the hacks list on SD, enabled or not, even after wiping the memory. If i take the SD card out and reboot the wii it finds no patches in nand or sd and loads the generic menu health warning and all. health warning is the only one ive confirmed so far, and it doesn't seem to matter where in the list of patches its located. (first and last tested)
