Yes but bootMii as an IOS isn't so good.

The preloader 0.30 should install at an another slot than the systemMenu (in his video, he delete the slot of the systemMenu).

So, it can potentialy resists any nintendo's update. To add, if Crediar write his own IOS with Mini, Preloader will works without any code of nintendo.

So it will resists update and will be launch at the begining (before the bootMii if we can't install it as boot2).
Then, with preloader 0.30 we will be able to launch bootMii without anything (nor SystemMenu nor HBC) and will allow us to recover from brick more easier.

I have to assume somebody will pick up the gauntlet here eventually. Preloader won't even install on newer consoles, and there are even more that can't use BootMii as boot2. I see all of these posts with people saying that BootMii/boot2 is superior...well, yes I'm sure it is, but that's not much good to the people that can't make use of it. Over time, that group is only going to grow larger and eventually overtake the people with older systems.

what would be a good idea is if CRED releases a function that would allow you to install wads from preloader such as a system menu that way if you do try to reinstall a system menu preloader would already from there rename it therefore not giving you the risk of having to reinstall preloader all over again or if a power goes out during installing of a system menu you still have preloader.

yea so when is there gonna be a beta release this freedom looks pretty cool already, good idea if he makes it like Windows media center or even the new xbox 360 dashboard. but its simple UI is Pretty slick to me.

The big deal is that if you're a moron and you wipe your system menu you wouldn't be bricked. A lot of silly people would benefit from that feature since they apparently don't know how to use BootMii even when it's installed to boot2
