The Wii starts with about 1000+~1500 blocks, if you have anymore before installing a System Menu WAD, I do not know what magic Wii you have.

I think you might be looking at your SD Card's block space before installation, then you looked at your Wii's block space after installation

Well i'm not sure about my Old Wii cause it Non-Working right now\Taking a Break, But my New Wii has around 2000 blocks just double checked to make Sure no clue why it has more memory than yours?

It's taking a break eh? What did you brick it with. I got a JiizBlaster that just might bring it back to life.

In thread related content.... thanks goes out once again to crediar for Preloader and the Tweak Tool which without we would not have been able
to release the new themes we did friday night. If you wanna see a really nice looking Wii install our Matrix Theme WiiBlaster. We used some of our new found
system menu modifications to max it out. But it's still got plenty of room for improvement if anybody would like to design up cursor sets or is good with the buttons. I just haven't gotten into those yet. Dang, that really wasn't on topic. Didn't hide my blatant attmempt to get people to download our matrix theme very well. Anyways.. I'll see you around the town Blaster. Say hi to Ironmask for me if you ever hear from him. Have him give me a yell.

i followed nearly all the threads about preloader, cioscorp, softmii and all the other great stuff which has been released during the last view weeks. because of the reason i have a modchip installed i stayed with starfall on my 3.2u wii till tonight. i reinstalled system menu 289 wad to uninstall starfall and installed preloader .28 afterwards. the reason for me was to get my pal backups running through the disc channel like they do as long as i use gecko-os/softchip/ect.. but may plan didn't work. pal backups do still not show up in the disc channel. is there a hack to achieve the same result as i get when i use the rebooter of geckoos?

and one other question what does the hack "ios reloading" do?

my hacks.ini:

And then removed all hack and tried this one:

And no matter what combination I enable/disable no USA/JAP games will work for me.

Iv tried every conceivable combo there is!

Every time I get black screen, which I'm pretty sure means its NOT forcing the disk region, because if I fire up gamma, click force NTSC the game runs fine.

This is pissing me off now... any one any ideas?!

Iv softmii'd 2.1.1 PAL wii 3.2e (and ironically untill preloader 0.28, had no probs with region free)

Help?

removed all hacks, restarted, reinstalled 290 wad, restarted, ran ARC 1.1 M5 > reinstalled 3.2e > applied hacks (inc enhanced region free), restarted, loaded preloader (didnt add any hacks to see if its a conflict between ARC enhanced RF and any hack in preloader), restarted, reinstalled Cioscorp:

USA/JAP games show in disk channel, but still go black screen when i hit start.... wtf?

Edit: tried with all hacks except region free wii games on... no joy.

Edit 2: tried with region free wii, force region on.......no joy.

Edit 3: tried with region free disabled, force region and disc area check on.........................no joy.

Edit 4: tried every way round i can think of.... not a sausage.

I feel that force disc region just isnt working, as the only games that boot are PAL now, but turning it on or off has NO EFFECT.

The irony of this all is that my set up used to work perfectly, only a handful of JAP games didnt work (forcing jap lang in gamma works for those)
oh well... not the end of the world, just a pain in the dick.

Don't you mean sysmenu 290? v289 is NTSC aka 3.2u

The IOS reloading hack forces the disc channel to load everything with cIOS249.

It's one file... and it's renamed 10000043.app (on my ntsc wii) after Preloader installs. Preloader just changes the first char to a 1.

Granted that the file is only ~50 blocks, I'd still like to be able to remove it.
So if reinstalling SystemMenu-v289.wad doesn't work... Has anyone tried deleting it with ATD or FTPii?

ATD only deletes entire titles. Not something you want to do with the system menu. Not that ATD would let you anyway, believe it has protections in place to outright refuse deleting sysmenu and it's IOS. FTPii *might* let you. I tried copying a file to NAND with FTPii and it wouldn't let me. Could be that writes/deletes aren't possible to NAND (with FTPii), just reading.

you are right. some of the pal games blackscreen after launch. no wiimote sync and i have to press and hold the powerbutton for a couple of secs to shut the wii down.

non working games:
Mario Party 8 - Pal
Harvest Moon - Magic Melody - Pal

the wii starts to read the disc and stops after maybe a half second and freezes with blackscreen.

but most of my tested games are working:
mario kart wii - pal
amf bowling - pal
Geometry Wars - pal
Metal Slug anthology - pal
rayman raving rabbits 2 - pal

i tried to reinstalled sm v289 without any hacks to see if any of the games would show up in the disc channel to make sure they realy are pal versions. but i wasn't able to revert the showing up of the games in the disc channel. i tried cios downgrader and anyregion changer to get a regular system menu but no luck. next i'll try to install all ioses and sm with standard anyregion changer.

is there a homebrew tool which can be used to check the region of a game?

Use gamma to boot them and check the region code that pops up.

Iv tried everything now, NO NTSC games run unless i force ntsc region through gamma.

looks like screemer and I have exact same issues here.

sorry for the double post just wanted to mention what i found out.

AnyRgnChngr1.1b mod05 does make changes to ios30 and after reinstallation of it backups don't show up in the disc channel anymore.

is it somehow possible to achieve disc channel loading of backups via a preloader hack without changing ios30? maybe in a future release?

i asked in 1 of the numerous 4.0 threads about uninstalling preloader ie running hacks remover as this had to be done prior to installing a fresh system menu.................do i assume we can just update what happens to the renamed preloader system menu ..
