Today i tested the app, awesome.

Just for the record (switch os 6.1, reinx, from hb.nsp):
- with two short videoclips (mkv and mp4) the first time i played the mkv it crashed, i tried again and then all works, idk.
- i created a folder with 5 films, when trying to open it the app crash, then i made a folder for each one of them and then no problems playing all of them. I guess it was too heavy to scan.

I have folders with 21-22 episode seasons in them so don't think that's the problem, I recode them to 720x404 720p with handbreak they run perfect, also running pplay as a nsp

It's possible that the app crash because its still scanning the videos when you launch one. It should not crash though, but I'll have to do something about waiting for the current video to process (scan/extract media info) before playing. I'll be able to take a closer look in a few days.

Yeah, I know, I always wait for it to scan the folder and the file. I was meaning that maybe the folder scanning was too heavy as I didn't touch anything but it crashed.
There were as I said like five films, which i was able to play with no trouble after separating them each one in one folder.

Yes it does, but only one at a time. I need to add playlist support, and a "special" ui for it.

It may be because you don't have hbmenu.nro at the root of your sdcard?

I do have it, I can run the menu and use homebrew from the album icon, too. it's not inside any folders.

You can try deleting the "pplay.cfg" file in "/switch/pplay", if this doesn't work you can edit this file to set the path of the (a) pplay directory.

I got a nsp from someone else and it worked, the videos don't crash now! I also set the buffer to high

That's still strange, I guess the HBL nsp linked in first post should work. I'll try to do more testing soon.

in fact the nsp on the github page cannot be (isn't meant to be) installed. You rather put it in the Atmosphere folder. It's the one in the original thread that can.

The one in the original thread? I'm a bit confused with those nsp loader, I think I'm using the one linked on github to develop, but I'm not even sure.. I need to do some testing with them, but I can't right now. I'll make an nsp for the next release so there's no confusion (I'll also find a way to detect available memory at launch to set lower buffer option if not possible to use all ram).

Actually, I wanted to create an NSP with NRO2NSP but the menu is broken after that and the video is only played in small. Had an extra icon made, if you like it, you can have it, before it was for vain. Write me and I'll send it to you

Furthermore, I have a problem. When I watch a movie, the screen darkens after a few minutes. Is it possible to set this somewhere or can you fix it via a fix?

I made a NRO2NSP with this image you provided, with Horizon 6.1.0 required keys for the program, I am on 6.2.0,... it didnt function for me but maybe it could function on the previous version of Horizon that is 6.1.0 maybe, can you give it a test... for me on 6.2.0 it didnt appear anything when i access the NSP trough the system menu, here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0rk9heehrqxh0fz/pplay_05000A5500000000.7z?dl=0

The problem may be that I use embedded resources for ui (romfs) which may not be compatible with nsp (I didn't deal with nsp a lot in the past). Next week, I will fix that.
