Hardware Power Saves Question

I've had one of these things sitting around my house for about a year after my roommate left it here. Is there anything I can do with this thing if I don't have the serial it came with?

You might see if it will backup/restore saves without being registered. Download the firmware and check.

I tried it, and it tells me it backed up my save, but I don't know to where.
I talked to my old roommate who apparently had the serial for it, but he said it never worked even with the serial, which it doesn't.

Its in:
C:\Users\rufuszombot\Powersaves3DS

The backups should be accessible from the Powersaves GUI anyway.

You might try to get powersaves to give you a new serial. Just say you lost the old one or something. Worth a try.

Thanks. It does show the backups in the GUI, but I have no options.
I also opened the XML file, and it says my region is EU. I guess this happens a lot.
