It sounds like the address for the HP could be using a value not necessarily equal to what is shown on the screen. (In example the Current time left code for 3D World, the game shows 999 on the screen, but the RAM holds the value ABAF) In this case, you could try to start a search for an unknown value, deal damage to yourself, search for a decreased value, deal damage to yourself again, search for a decreased value again, heal yourself, search for an increase this time, and repeat those steps until you find the proper one. Its tedious, but it'll get the job done eventually.

Thank you for the reply, I will give this a try! Using the same start and end values I'm assuming. I will let you know!

Did you try any range above 0x40000000?
try 40000000 to 40000000 ++ 1000000
I...I'm sorry I don't know what that means.

Try searching in the range between 40000000 - 41000000. then 41000000 - 42000000. in simply in increments of 1000000 because once you hit the unmapped memory you will freeze the system. where the unmapped memory starts varies. but it's usually somewhere above 40000000

Alright! If the first suggestion does not work, I will give this one a try up until it freezes. Hopefully I can get this figured out. Thank you!

@CosmoCortney Yes, every time I poked the lives and coin addresses, they always updated both in levels and out of them, and I tested the timer by putting it to 5 seconds left to run out and it made me lose a life for running out of time.

ok, good. this game is really odd :(
Maybe another one with the disc-based version can check out if your code works and someone with the digital version if CuriousTommy's ones work

Hello, I gave this a shot and it worked sorta. After a long time playing with the HP gauge (healing, taking damage, etc.) I ended up with three lines of code that would not disappear no matter how much I altered the search. I'm assuing this means all three lines are necessary? Anyways I have three addresses listed under "Address" "Old" "New" and "Different". I'm not sure what to do from here...I tried right clicking and opening Memory Viewer and Poking, but that didn't seem to do anything. Also the value of the three codes is not equal to the HP decimal value in game. I'm assuming it's as you said, the address for the HP is using a value not equal to what is shown on screen. Due to this, I'm not even sure what to change the value to if I wanted to modify the HP value. Where should I go from here?

Only one should be linked to your hp, but what I'd do would either keep the addresses in the Watchlist to see all them update together and do the following;

Heal yourself to full health or have the round end so you start the next round at full health and see what the value in the address shows, maybe write it down somewhere. Bring your health back down and poke the address with the value to see if it goes back to full health.

Not sure though if the address will change from battle to battle or not, or if it's done via pointers. I'll see if I can find anything on my copy later tonight and get back with you.

And above all, I would highly recommend NOT using this kinda stuff for online lol. Quickest way to get your Wii U blocked from online play. :P

so i have child of light, i was wondering if there was any codes other than those 2 at the front that dont work?
it might be the ntsc one, i just want some item codes

@Kurayami @CuriousTommy are you sure the addresses worked?
I can't find any pointer :(
I think I might be on to something! I noticed that when I created a different save, the time code no longer works.
Edit: I was right! I am making a code dump right now and I am going to see if I can make a pointer also.

My next step is learning how to do pointers. It's aggravating because the wiiu will lock up or the computer program. Making this time consuming !

It pretty easy once you know what to do. From personal experience, I never had to go beyond 49000000 for making pointers (anything beyond that crashes the Wii U; plus there never seem to be anything interesting there). The only annoying part is finding out where the good pointer is located.

Regardless, I wish you the best of luck.

Hm, that is very interesting. In that case, mine was on save file 2, and I'm assuming yours was originally on save file 1 or 3?
