I am, as ever, a fan of the descriptive titles, and if someone wants to misinterpret it and post me their toolbox then I shall not say no either.

Anyway I am curious to see what other 'tempers have by way of tools. Since winter has ended I have been regularly going to car boot sales (more of a UK term, think yard sales, swap meets and possibly flea markets) for the first time in a few years. At this point in time they seem to be packed with retired and retiring tradesmen all just getting rid of stuff. As it seems nobody young around here has a trade any more, or if they do then it is power tools or nothing*, then I have been cleaning up. Also doing well for PS3 and 360 games but that is a different thread.

*not that I am doing badly on the power tools front either.

If someone has it as a trade or type of engineering then I am probably interested enough to be a liability in it, and with tools to do it these days as well. About the only thing I do not go in for, mainly through lack of tools, would be leatherwork ( https://www.youtube.com/user/satansbarber?feature=hovercard ). However over the years I have seen various members say they do not even have a respectable set of screwdrivers which blows my mind.

I will figure out a way to take pictures of my stuff later but I thought I would start it now, if someone also wants to do some kind of workshop tour then even better. I will warn you though that I am no tool fetishist and I am all about getting things that are both practical (the poor bastards 300 years ago would have jumped at my modern power tools, though it is not to say their toys were entirely without merit) and that I will use often enough to be worth the space, though I have no objection to people having tools for aesthetic/display purposes if they want.

I got a variety of screwdrivers, small flatheads n philips, triwings, torx for xbox, gamebit for the older systems.
Along with a soldering iron which will be replaced with a temp controlled one later.

As for car tools, I got a couple of tools I nicked from scrap cars.
3 car jacks and some twat of a mechanic left some simple tools in me car on it's MOT one time.

Other then that, I barely have any.

only got random stuff around the house from other family members, the only tools i really own are tri wing screwdrivers.. and 2 screwdrivers
also got a very old multimeter that works...

are wires considered tools? like computer\tv wires i got around?
hey @FAST6191 how about also a wire\cables\connections thread?

I do have a very large draw and several boxes of various wires. However the world seems to finally be getting over its proprietary wire/connector fetish and I am not wishing to help it bring it back.

I have so many different tools, tons of screwdrivers, 12 hammers, hundreds of screws, nuts, bolts, springs, and so on, probably about a 200+ wrenches, pliers of all kinds, tons of power tools, saws, the list goes on
I'll try and take pics later and upload them

I was actually thinking about making coin rings

    Between insane and insecure
My toolbox is just a tool PSP case that I use to carry around the small amount of tools and flashcards I use.

Since I mostly work in handheld systems, I rarely need more than a few tools. I have other tools, but I don't carry them with me.

If we are doing everyday/if I am out and about tools then I can start there
In my main bag, an old climbing/hiking bag but they hold up better than anything else out there. Though I suspect that is more a function of not having any zips in the main compartment. Oh and I guess I have some paracord around the top there in case I decide to go all Ray Mears on you all.

All in the bag without whatever else I might be bringing clocks about 8kg. The CD pouch contains mainly DVDs of the various versions of Windows 7, windows XP, password recovery tools, a few Linux DVDs and other computer recovery tools.

I tend not to bring a soldering iron unless I know I will need it. Most of the time when I do I am already at a car garage so I can use of theirs and the other one I commonly need one at I leave one there.

Oh and I have a few cases, one of which is always loaded with basically one of every type of cable that deals with a computer or audio/visual equipment.

I do not usually take the case out with me unless I think I will need it. The backpack is what I take around to all clients I go see. I probably could trim it down to the screwdrivers, a multimeter, the discs, some canned air, the notebook and a set of pliers but I do find the other stuff useful enough to carry around. Especially as I often get "while you are here" and such things usually help then.

I am not sure why I am carrying around the phone/tablet repair kit as I do tend to sort them back at the house (once you have used a hot air station to remove glass you will never go back to a hairdryer) or when specifically called out to do it.
Speaking of hot air then as I needed an excuse to sort out my electronics repair stuff
