When I run NeoGamma, it says I have IOS249 rev3 and it works better with rev7 or better.

How do I get a newer version of IOS249?

The shortcut has cIOS 36, 37 and 38.
Are these the same as IOS249?

You should dl and install cIOS 38 rev14. Install it, its all you need. Dont install cIOS38 rev15, its kinda broken.

Edit: The cIOS(Custom IOS) installs on IOS249(therefor its always referred as 249).

Thanks all, final question on this subject...

How do I install it?
The zip contains a .dol file and the readme says I need a different wad thats not included.

The readme also says:
QUOTE said:
WAD Installation:

- Copy "IOS38-64-v3610.wad" file to the root of a SD card.
- Insert the SD card on your Wii.
- Run the installer and select "WAD Installation".

Do I google the wad, and install via wad manager?
Does the .dol need to be in the root of my SD card as well?

Do exactly as the instructions say. Download the required .wad. Copy it to the root of your SD card. Start the Wii and launch the updater. Select WAD installation. Sit back and let it finish.

The instructions say nothing regarding WAD manager, therefore, do not use WAD manager. The installer will take care of everything.

Hint: Use NUS Downloader ( http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/us.../nus-downloader ) to get the WAD.

In case you've never done anything like this before:
1. Use NUS Downloader to get the .wad in the instructions (Make sure Pack -> WAD is selected). Put IOS38-64-v3610.wad in the root of your SD card NOT in the wad folder.
2. Rename whatever the .dol is to boot.dol.
3. Put it in a folder (i.e. CIOSrev15Installer) and put that folder in the apps folder on the root of your SD card.
4. Insert SD card into the Wii.
5. Launch Homebrew Channel.
6. Select the CIOSrev15 installer. Choose IOS249, then WAD Installation. Let it finish.
7. Enjoy.
