On the note of peachs quality, has anyone actually seen a good quality peach figure being produced? I've checked most of amazon and ebay for quality figures of her and surprisingly these 10 - 15 dollar amiibos are about the best we got.

(Plus she has panties)

Okay so you are upset about one thing really? The cheek bones is something you can barely make out in the E3 photo against the final photo. I'm more surprised they increased her finger size but that is likely due to you know children breaking them off. I just see most of the design changes that people are pissed about something I would be pissed about if they were $50 but they are for children at $13 a figure.

Ehh, I never said I was upset about anything. I just think it's hilarious that people (you) have so much brand loyalty that they can lie to themselves by calling the figures "identical", when they are clearly not, just to defend Nintendo. They're different. Who fucking cares. Deal with it.

The only figure that looks bad is Marths but I dont give a damn about Fire Emblem so whateves :P

They pretty much do still look identical... Most people talk about Peach as the really big changed one. Peach, Fox, Donkey Kong, Pikachu, Marth, Link, Wii Fit Trainer, Yoshi, and Mario were all shown off. Most of the problems people had with the rest of them were purely production problem that likely aren't going to be the majority. Kirby's eyes were likely that one figure, Link/Marth sword is likely "limp" due to transportation bending, and Wii Fit Trainer's leg brace are all either problems of production or not fixing it before the shot. Peach is the ONLY one that has seen a physical change on her dress everything else is the exact same. 1 out of 9 were changed from the time we saw the prototype until release and the rest of the changes (WFT and Link) are just for stability and also the fact they are children's toys.

It's possible...actually likely, that the amiibos can't be cloned, because certain info is stored in a key-protected memory area. NFCs aren't dumb wireless storage containers, they're sophisticated, just like RFID smart cards (i.e. Mifare DESFire).

In other words, you can't just take your phone or even specialised hardware to a gamestop, and swipe it past all the amiibo toys :P

I saw one at a store just last night... no panties. Her legs are just stuck into the bottom of a big pink dome.
-3/10 sorry to disappoint you.

I too just signed up to post in this. I want to have archive copies and be able to transport my amiibos without worrying about the figure. (I especially want to be able to let the kids who play on my wii to use them without worrying about damage). I am a software engineer and know Java among many other languages, I will gladly lend some dev and test time to a project.

"Identical" lol

A few differences. Cheek bones increased in size. Dress went from being textured designs to simply painted. Design detail lowered for mass production cost reduction.
They also "censored" her in the final version

Thank you for this thread. I was wondering the same thing about if this could be done. Mainly because I just can't see myself buying these little toys just to unlock certain things in the game. I would much rather download dlc than collect clutter. As sweet as some of these amiibo's look, I doubt I would have them displayed around the house. The same with the Disney Infinity game. I would love to play it but I'm not, only because I have to buy those toys to play as different characters. Why can't they just offer dlc for those of us that don't want to buy them? I guess when someone successfully clones these amiibos and there is a way for us to do it in our homes, then they might consider dlc. smh

Does anyone have one of these yet?
How close does it have to be to the gamepad sensor in order to scan in?
I have some equipment and background in reversing, but it hinges on the above questions.

:yaypsp:

Excellent. That is just what I wanted to hear.
Now to get my hands on some amiibo. .. .

What I want to know is whether or not 3ds homebrew is capable of messing with Amiibo. That would just make this entire thing ridiculously simple.
