If I have access to the source code of a .3dsx file, what programs wil I need to compile a .cia?
And will it install on my emunand or do I have to do something extra to get it to install?

I don't know. Hans maybe. I just wanted to know if it was possible and what I would need to do so.

Recompiling software is a bit more complicated than "Rename the file" or "Run it through a program", dude.

Out with it, what 3dsx are you trying to use, here?

Hans is a homebrew program, and of course you can compile homebrew (because people already have been doing it for years) and the 3dbrew wiki has a nice article on this subject that for some reason no one mentioned. It makes some harsh assumptions on your environment though, although devkitpro also has a much nicer tutorial.

Edit:
whoops, I thought you meant you needed hans to compile homebrew. Dunno why you need hans as a cia as if you can install that, why not freemultipatcher?
I just wanted to know if it was possible.

If you want a HANS cia, its not going to happen any time soon. Homebrew that use XML files (such as HANS), don't work as cia's. The closest thing you can get is running it through the Homebrew Launcher Loader.
