Hardware Possible for emuNAND to Corrupt sysNAND?

Any way an EmuNAND setup can corrupt the sysNAND? Hacked my nephews 3ds a few months back and its died recently. No charge light or booting. Motherboard has power in all places i probed and both fuses are intact. Wondered if it was worth flashing the sysNAND backup via hardware or is this not a likely scenario?

to me sounds like fully discharged or dead battery, try charge again or with another battery.

Thanks will give it a try, can at least probe both the battery and charger.
