As some sources mentioned that horizon is keeping track of battery usage. Would this mean that lengthy periods of time outside of horizon (such as copying large files over via memloader (giving usb access via pc to microsd card)
cause possible battery desync? I have yet to try this, but curious if anyone else has had device turn off prematurely due to extended periods outside of horizon.

Hm...Interesting question! I enjoy using memloader myself and never experienced the battery issue once! AFAIK memloader does not modify any file system so you should be safe using it.

Based on my tests and the battery fuel gauge values, horizon takes this data from the fuel gauge.
But it has other quirks. If it gets a misconfigured fuel gauge data (because linux, not RCM or AutoRCM), it keeps it and does not want to reset them based on new ones.

I already created a battery fuel gauge for hekate internally and made a possible de-sync fix, that didn't help, but only increased the play time for some users that had completely off registers.

I really enjoy reading about your research/experiments.
I sure hope you'll find a software fix for this issue.

I believe that if we combine my research and @SciresM Horizon OS research on the battery de-sync, we may find a fix for that.
I have a hefty data now from the tests with the fuel gauge registers.

EDIT:
Also you'll see a nice battery status with the new hekate version
