TBH, with this screen size, I'd be happier for a Chrome OS port than an Android one.
Why the hell would we want Chrome OS when we have Linux?
We're only seeking for Android app support. ARC Welder and Anbox are not really that nice and have massive problems with apps that require Google Play services.

Chrome OS is becoming an all-in-one OS. It can run Android apps and will soon be able to run Linux apps. I don't like using Android with screens this big, because it's designed for smaller screens and is just a waste of space. Chrome OS has proper windows that help make use of space.

Well .. Tablets are bigger .. And Android is made for them, too... I understand your point though.. But I would be totaly happy with SwitchDroid for now ;) (More than ArchLinux btw... Its so fkn touch-unfriendly :shit:)

EDIT:
SwitchDroid
Yeah! Thats how it is called now! DO IT! :creep:

I have an Android tablet and I wish it ran Chrome OS. Android is compatible with tablets (somewhat optimised for them, too), but it still shows how it's mainly for phones.

What? They planned that for years now and honestly I don't think they'll ever make it happen. As I said they are using ARC-Welder which is nothing but a Chrome extension (and can be used on Windows/Linux as well by the way) and it sucks. It only works with a few apps. There's almost zero progress in the last few months. Do you really think it will get any better than this?

W00t? What exactly do you mean? That sounds as if Android apps are only using a small area in the center of a tablet display with a big black bezel around it. :D
On the Android tablets that I have seen (and I've seen many) more space means more places for icons on the homescreen, bigger picture and video viewing in the galery, more stuff on the display while browsing and alle games are scaled to 10" (or whatever size) which is great.

Android isn't designed for smaller screens, once Androids DPI is high enough all apps that support it can switch between a Phone, Phablet, and a full Tablet UI mode where things are sorted and layed out differently.

No shit Sherlock. But even in tablet mode, you can't go as space efficient as with actual windows.

lmao then say that instead of saying its outright not designed for it. with multiwindow support and picture-in-picture with android 8 it's getting closer to being better at using space

It is getting better, but as a whole it's still a pile of crap on tablets, that's the main reason why Android tablets have failed in the market.

That said, I'd still prefer Android over Chrome OS since I'll use 99% handheld anyway, and I don't think 6" is enough for Chrome OS.

Android tablets have failed in the market

Only because there is no apple inside the logo :P
I mean iPads did success in the marked and their (UI-)design isn't that different from android...
The main reason Andorid Tablets failed is, because the Tablet manufacturers (in most cases) did not fit the hardware to the software requirements (or only minimum)..
Thats why Android Tablets are often slow and crash often.. T___T
