Filou HB has released Pong for the DS, a new homebrew version based on the famous classic of the same name. Give the game a whirl and check out some video game action, 1972 style.

  • Hello!
I had some free time this weekend, so I decided to make a Pong! Well yes, why not? After all, it's still the first video game was becoming famous. Feel free to review and especially tell me if there are bugs.

Im the guy that posts homebrew, so i get the pleasure of deciding what i think is worthy of posting.
Apparently, this game is not up to your high homebrew standards. These days, homebrew projects are more and more scarce, so i welcome new additions to the library.

This is a new release, so im sure there is room for improvement- such as the AI and difficulty.

It's not hard to make pong.

i'm actively awaiting your release of pong.. put your skills where your mouth is son.

i'm happy to see that someone worked on a new pong port, even tho we have a few from gba to ds. it is always possible that this developer will go on to do greater things with the ds. its sad that ds homebrew's "golden age" is over but i still have hopes that many projects will get some updates (hint-hint--- another world ds, flash back ds, ds pack, snemulds, neods, etc.)

thanks for the news, vato.

This is something that I was working on a while ago that I never finished because I got bored with it. It's Magnavox Odyssey for DS. Similar to pong. http://dsgamemaker.com/forum/download/file.php?id=7150

If you want me to make a plain old pong game I will...

How is this home page worthy news?
How about we have a vote on it? I'll open a poll thread and everything, since the news is not just for you, but is for the entire site.

We'll see what the entire site thinks, okay? :)

It's not hard to make pong. Especially with no good AI...
Well then feel free to make and release stuff you think is better.

also gonna install twilight menu in my r4 flashcard
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
