Does anyone know if the Hori Pokken tournament controller will work on the switch, say in bomberman?
Pretty sure it was designed exclusively for use with PokkéTournament and will not function with other games let alone a different console.
I would suggest you contact Hori support to find out and post the response here.
A controller that only works on a specific game? Never heard of it.
Specific console? Yup.
Wasn't there an adapter for the Wii U to support older gamecube controllers just for Smash?
Yes, but I'm talking about the controller only working for the specific game. They're adapting older controllers to the new system with that. Which was used in Nintendont as well. I still don't think the Pokken controller only works in Pokken.
If it does, then I've learned something new.
I'm just pointing out that, that was a controller and adapter that only worked for one game on the Wii U; so it doesn't seem that big of a stretch to me.
It was more or less the adapter.. Not the controller. It makes sense, but I don't see them as comparable.
Well now you have.
Thank you! Ya learn something new everyday. Jeez.
Since it's recognized as a USB gamepad, that's why I think it might be recognized on the switch.
Why not just ask Hori support?
I emailed them, waiting now
The issue is not the controller working, it's supported. Since no other controllers are supported by the switch from the Wii/U I'd say no.
I do hate how Nintendo has these perphs that are locked to a single game though.
I got a response from HORI:
What do you guys think?
It's completely fair, it was designed for just pokken afterall...
Yeah, I was just hoping since a lot of games on the switch use just the joystick and the four face buttons, it would work well with the switch.
What is there to "think" about, you already knew it wouldn't work.
Well, you can use it on PC for retro gaming and apparently, it's compatible with PS3.
That and android games are what i'll be using it for
