Gaming Pokemon X and Y Firmware

What firmware do you think X and Y will be running on? I that myself.

I tried consulting my Magic 8 Ball but it refused to answer! It said the question is incredibly stupid.

So, I had to resort to using common sense. You see, Pokemon X/Y will be released in October. Let's say they need a month to produce all the cartridges they will sell. That means that production begins this month.

When was the latest Firmware released? This states that the latest FW was released on the 5th of August, so last month.

You still with me? If we use logic then we could say that since the newest FW was released last month and production begins this month (speculatively) then Pokemon X/Y will come with an update to 6.2. I mean why wouldn't it? With GW3DS released, Nintendo has a big incentive in bundling a 6.2 update with such a high-profile game as Pokemon.

Well the game didn't go gold yet so we don't know which firmware it'll come up with. I hope you're not asking this because of Gateway because an untouched rom will definitely not work on Gateway which is common sense.

6.2, or an entirely new firmware. The latter is rather likely.
They could've been working on something to stop the Gateway in its tracks for a while.
