poke' it up your arse, nintendo

that made me LOL

It's interesting that Diamond is the first game where I'm using multiple Pokemon. In the other games I went with the starter, evolved it as fast as possible and never really used any other Pokemon for fighting. Now I've got a team of six which are all quite well trained. The game isn't easier this way, though... Well, if you've got all the weaknesses and Pokemon in your head, maybe. My knowledge about that stuff is still a little rusty.

I've been running around with a machop, turtwig evol #3, Abra evol #2, and shinx evol #3. I really have no other use for the others as you can usually handle most anything if you plan your attack sets. Also getting the coin amulet @ the park made life 10x easier as I make 2* all trainer battles. So really pokemon has become a walk in the park for me, which correlates to a boring game.

Would have been nice if they revamped the battle system to something a little more quick, a little less clunky boring text, and possibly use some of the DS's 'umph'.

once you play another fun game i doubt you can go back to pokemon.
you'll realize how slow it is.

go try panel de pon, or Ouendan 2.
bet you you wont touch pokemon again.

anyways, i done everything in pokemon.. all the sidequests, battled every single trainer.
Caught darkrai, shaymin and arceus too.
done with the E4 obviously and i went around the whole battle island.
clocked in around 90hours
but after i touched another game (panel de pon) i just couldn't go back to pokemon.
too slow.
now i dont even touch it at all.

I beat the elite four at 22 hours. I used Empoleon the whole way through. I did all the side quest, caught all the legendaries: heatran, darkrai, shaymin, arceus, giratina, etc. Now I am in the process of raising them up with the proper EV's in order to stomp some people on wi-fi and prove to my friends that I am still better in Pokemon. I am uber dork!

Anyways, we don't care if you've beat it in 22 hour or 122 hours. It's not a competition. At the end of the day, you're playing pokemon... therefore you lose

That's funny, I don't care what you think. I was simply stating that it could be done. No competition necessary, until the battling occurs.

I used around 100~150 Max Repels and Empoleon was the only Pokemon I used to battle the trainers.

QUOTEI care! I'm impressed.

Thanks OrR. Let me know if you want to do some trading or anything.

I like the concept and I think it's a very good game, good game design as well... except for the gameplay speed.

I have to wait some seconds when I get an encounter, and all the small waiting periods during battling add up to a LOT. I played Pokemon FireRed using VBA, at least I could speed up things. I realized after a while I played about 90% of the game sped up.

Instead of 60 hours into the game you probably could be 30 hours if it wasn't for the stupid time consuming idiotic waiting periods between each and every action.
Totally ruins it for me.

Turn based can be quick as hell and still be very enjoyable.

yea.. i havent played Pokemon in awhile after Etrian Odyssey came out.. i enjoy that a bit more .. o.o

well.. using high powered legendaries in Wi-Fi battles against your friends isnt something special... you should use 'normal' overpowered pokemon to stomp them... thatll be better =P

like killing a Arceus with a Crobat that has, Confuse, Toxic, u-Turn, Nighslash.. etc etc. xD
its a lot more fun when you totally run over your opponents with pokemon they too can get.. but yours are just better =P

90 hours here...

Have my wifi and battle revolution team at level 100.
Now no more motivation to play because I don't care about catching them all...

So I think I won't play until pkmn battle revolution is released

75h and still not beaten the top four? how did you manage THAT? o.O
i beat the game after 30h... okay, havent caught 137 pkmn like you did, i think it was about 50 only, but that was enough. Right after the top four, my sinnoh pokedex was full (seen only) and i received the national one.
I guess the most motivation of playing these games after beating the top four is of course the many legendary pokemon, hidden extras, bonus stuff... and of course the wifi mode, esp. the battle tower! Grr one day im gonna beat 7 of these goddamn human-but-controlled-by-cpu trainers...
Building a team is fun

at least if you dont cheat. I'll never use pokesav except for getting the things you cant normally get without nintendo activation & for restoring my save file once it gets corrupted, which happened sometimes already.
So all in all, like the three pkmn generations before, i definitely love this one and im not gonna stop soon... you guys definitely need to get more into this one

and to everyone thats saying that pokemon is simple, check out bulbapedia (a great pkmn wiki) -> game mechanics. Its crazy, how each of the 493 monsters got whole different stats, weaknesses, strengths, tm's that can be learned, types....... and to make up your "own" perfect team with which you are able to beat other player's teams (battle tower & wifi!).. thats a damn complex thing and it's fun as hell.

lol i think i'm at 100 hours, and i beat the elite 4 about 5 days ago. I took my time this time and it becomes more enjoyable.

Well i'm kinda pissed right now, i let my brother play to catch croagunk and azurill in the marsh place, and he freaking didnt save! no only that but i had spent about 2 HOURS playing before i swapped it over to him.

3 HOURS OF GAMPLAY LOST! IMMA KILL HIM!
