...ok, Pokemon got boring. I've got 6 badges and I can't be arsed with the game anymore.
I fall under this category, but I stopped at 3 badges. Platinum Sudoku and Picross DS require much less time invested - easier to pick up and play.
8 Badges, Beat Elite Four & the Champ, got to the battle island place and thought FUCK THIS
I am at the 5th badge and I still love it. I stopped early in the GBA version, though. I guess this one is better or maybe the pause between games was long enough this time or something.
It's like... well, this isn't much different from Pokemon red. Why am I still playing this?
well i got to badge 2 and was about to get badge 3 when my son broke my transflash card so i had to start it all over again.
i'm determined to get to the end of the game
OrR and Shelleeson, have you tried Picross?
Same with most of the posters, it did contribute to my neglecting the Pokemon game.
like me, I stopped playing after reaching the 3rd gym.
i may just give it a go under your recommendation............................when i can get my ds back
What's this with people suddenly loving Picross?! Not my type of game. I'm still traumatized from my Palm era. Too many bloody puzzlers!
well i have to say i tried it about 20 minutes ago and to be honest it's probably not one of those games that would hold my attention
it was fun while it lasted....................back to pokemon
How the bloody hell do you break a transflash card? They're too tiny!
he didn't break one he broke two i have no idea but if youwanna send him yours i'll send it back knackered.
there was what looked like a line down the middle and when you put it into the ds it just kept saying loading.
im 75 hours into the game i got all 8 badges right now im on victory road
i did all the sidequests and i have CAUGHT 137 pokemon :-)
this is my first pokemon game how can you not like this game
75h and still not beaten the top four? how did you manage THAT? o.O
i beat the game after 30h... okay, havent caught 137 pkmn like you did, i think it was about 50 only, but that was enough. Right after the top four, my sinnoh pokedex was full (seen only) and i received the national one.
I guess the most motivation of playing these games after beating the top four is of course the many legendary pokemon, hidden extras, bonus stuff... and of course the wifi mode, esp. the battle tower! Grr one day im gonna beat 7 of these goddamn human-but-controlled-by-cpu trainers...
Building a team is fun at least if you dont cheat. I'll never use pokesav except for getting the things you cant normally get without nintendo activation & for restoring my save file once it gets corrupted, which happened sometimes already.
So all in all, like the three pkmn generations before, i definitely love this one and im not gonna stop soon... you guys definitely need to get more into this one and to everyone thats saying that pokemon is simple, check out bulbapedia (a great pkmn wiki) -> game mechanics. Its crazy, how each of the 493 monsters got whole different stats, weaknesses, strengths, tm's that can be learned, types....... and to make up your "own" perfect team with which you are able to beat other player's teams (battle tower & wifi!).. thats a damn complex thing and it's fun as hell.
i don't even like pokemon. got sick of diamond after 2 hours
I use to be a big fan of the original red/blue and a fan of the gold/silver. I tried playing pokemon diamond and I was so bored within 10-20 minutes of the game. The battle system just seems too limited to me now.
I suppose that's why. It's boring cos to be honest, I don't think much has changed since pokemon red/blue
ah that's the differnce then cause this is also my first game
yeah, the battle system sucks (IMO)
main problem is that i never bought into the whole "gotta catch 'em all" thing.
I've got better things to do than run around in tall grass for 70 hours, looking for 150 critters. poke' it up your arse, nintendo
