Complete noob regarding exploiting the switch. But I’m considering getting cfw for it depending on what I can do.
My experience with cfw is limited to homebrewing my 3ds, and using jksv with my pokemon save files to do edits on pkhex as one of the things i’ve done.
My question is if its possible to also do this with sword and shield, specifically editing event flags like a legendary having been caught or not.
To be even more percise, I caught a legendary and now I want to reencounter it to shiny hunt, but I need that flag to be undone, but before I make up my mind to homebrew (obviously this isnt a deciding factor), I want to know if its possible to do this.

thanks in advance and I apologize for coming on here with nearly 0 knowledge about switch exploits.

If you want to do a chain i dont think it possible, if you want more tries its possible, just make a save before the figth and restore

Again, im not familiar with either of these. What is a chain?!and creating a save file sounds Pretty awesome to me this is the first im hearing of it.

Not truly sure about chains, just that you increase your chance to get shinnies.
In the case of the saves its easier, you can make a save, copy and paste the same folder, change name and done you can edit each one separate

That sounds closer to what I want. I definitely don’t want to increase my chances, I just want to edit the save file itself to make the legendary appear again. Give me another chance at it basically.
