Gaming pokemon style games

is there any games that have the pokemon style game play like the Gameboy and GBA n DS
where theres plenty to do and can explore wherever u want

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker is the game for the NDS you are looking for

rune factory frontier is sort of like it you can catch and raise animals in it, explore dungeons, cook, craft and farm

 

[Guild McCommunist]

Fossil Fighters is sorta a Pokemon rip-off with dinosaurs. I found it pretty crappy but whatever.

Shin Megami Tensei games (both Strange Journey and Devil Survivor) let you capture, raise, and battle with demons.

There's Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker which was already mentioned.

Not much else I can think of.

Definitely DQM: Joker, one of the best fake-Pokemon games there is.
A lot of grinding though.
