Hacking Pokemon Platinum won't read save

I got an R4i for my DSi (not my own choice)
i replaced the firmware etc from my N5 ds (again, not my own choice)

everything works fine except for Platinum
it keeps saying the file has been corrupted or damaged or sometimes it doesn't read at all
if i create a new save it works but opening on pokesav gives me back my old file

i'm using AKAIO if that helps, but the crappy r4i menu doesn't work either
any ideas?

How odd, I am sure this has been mentioned before... Did you try using the SEARCH button.

Couple of things come to mind anyway;

1. AKAIO on an R4? Erm... That's not really designed for the R4 series you know...
2. Do you get the same issue if you don't use pokesav? Play game, save, reset and try to load game.
3. Do you have at least 1mb space free before saving?

Have you tried renaming the Rom (.nds) that would match to the Name of your Save file (.sav)?

1. I know. But like I said, the "default" menu itself doesn't help either.
2. Nope. It's not that my original file was touched by Pokesav either.
