ROM Hack Discussion Pokémon Let's Go motion control replacement

So now that Pokémon Let's go is out, I can wholeheartedly say that I hate the motion control BS they introduced.
Since I don't have the technical knowledge to do this, I was thinking maybe it's possible to swap the motion controls with a "timed" button action like "A" in this instance.

So instead of swinging your hands like a crazy person on public transportation and make a fool out of yourself, you could just press A at the right time and catch the Pokémon.

If such a patch can be implemented I would be really interested in playing Pokémon "Go" on the go...

Haven't played it myself yet, but I believe this is already a thing in handheld mode

Play handheld? You just have to press A at the right time. I have no clue why they didn't use the touch screen on the switch just like Pokemon go...

are you saying you are playing this on a bus/train with the joycons detached and not in handheld mode? You monster! lol
Seriously though, handheld mode you shouldnt be flingly around like a crazy person. Some pokemon jump around, but it's pretty subtle and doesn't make you turn too far left/right.

That's weird. I seem. To remember they mentioned that you would exclusively need motion controls to play it. Guess I was wrong.
