You'll be able to purchase an upgrade for the Nintendo Switch 2 version, as well. More information about the game will be revealed during the Pokemon Presents livestream, on July 22nd. Those that purchase Pokemon Legends: ZA through the Pokemon Center store online in the USA, Canada, and UK, will be able to get a pre-order bonus plushie of Chikorita, Totodile, or Tepig.

waiting to see if they learned anything or if we are gonna get the same kind of cake they fished out of the sewer like the past decade

Another one? I used to like Pokemon but i'm tired of the same old (near 30yo) thing.

At least Palworld has some interesting extra mechanics to keep me entertained.
I really miss Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games. They have so much potential as a spin-off franchise. The last one we got was released a decade ago, on 3DS. And don't talk about the one we got on Switch, it's just a remake, and a poorly made one IMHO.

I refused to touch the Arceus game specifically because of how much I *hate* the gen 4 and 5 regions. This being in Kalos at least gives me reason to check it out. The ability to real time dodge for a change is interesting, to be perfectly fair.

Still, if Game Freak thinks they deserve money to release another Bethesda level mess, they can eat my entire ass for that money.

I've actually been kinda looking forward to this one, Legends Arceus tried some neat stuff, so I'm interested in seeing how they expand upon that specific formula.

Really hoping this one will be easy for new users to get into. I dipped out after Pokemon Yellow, peeked back in for Diamond and Pearl on DS and again for Black and White. I only started to really play Pokemon again with Let's Go Pikachu and Shining Pearl. Anything newer than that I'm completely out of touch.

In the case of Shining Pearl, it helps that there's a lot of Kanto region Pokemon in the game. They were probably hoping that folks like me would graduate from Pikachu and Eevee to the Diamond and Pearl remakes. Z-A looks to change the game In meaningful ways. I don't see a lot of people talking about how big it is to be able to move around the battlefield during a Pokemon fight. It's another major Switch release and as long as Nintendo keeps Switch 1 alive I'll continue to support it.

I don't care about how bad the game looks unless it's as shit as the first release of Ark. I rather like the fact that some studios have the balls to attempt ports to low end hardware. Those studios I have respect for. I'm really looking forward to this game and hopefully Splatoon 3 keeping the Switch 1 online scene going ( shit, I still need to buy 3 copies of Splatoon 3 😮‍💨 ).

This one looks like low effort cash-grab from first trailer.

I'll wait for first Switch 2 only Pokemon game that runs in 40fps and at least 1080p.
If its anything like the first Legends, then I'm not gonna care, it'll be a blast even if it is rough around the edges. Arceus is easily the most fun I've had with the Pokemon franchise in years, by a wide margin at that.

Is it too much to ask for Z-A to be an enjoyable game? Finally?

Between the Bethetic amount of bugs, the obscene prices for mandatory dlc, and the fact that significant amounts of the Pokedex is still missing, about the only enjoyable Pokemon games on the Switch have been: let's go Eevee, new pokemon snap and detective Pikachu. And that's it.

This is the first new Pokemon game since 2022 and I am not hyped at all. It looks so dull and uninteresting. I didn't like Mega Evolution since most of them would've been better as actual evolutions aside from 3 stage Pokemon

I remember some people praising how "good" the game looked on Switch 2 lmao

"good" being some blurry shadows, as opposed to no shadows.

Ugh, I was hoping Prime 4 would launch in October instead of this half-baked game, but maybe that means it's coming in August or September instead.
I have a tiny bit spark of hope for some kind of trailer or announcement at the summer game fest ... Even tho it's more reasonable to not hope for anything Nintendo-related.

It's intriguing that they haven't already revealed the release date

Same. First time in years I've stuck around and put effort into filling out the dex.
